Krishna Pattabhi Jois, the founder of the Ashtanga school of yoga passed away on Monday, 18th May 2009 at 2:30pm Indian Standard Time. Please see the Ashtanga Yoga Institute website for a biography of Krishna Pattabhi Jois. The Institute also has a nice collection of pictures, including an album of asanas.
An obituary for Krishna Pattabhi Jois appeared in the New York Times on May 20th, 2009.
